At TITAN Containers , we believe that impact is defined not only by our business activities but also by the actions and ambitions of the people who make up our team. That’s why we’re proud to support personal challenges that reflect the spirit of TITAN Impact , our global charitable initiative.
In April 2025, one of our colleagues, Aaron Shovlar , embarked on a three-week expedition to climb Mera Peak in the Himalayas . At 6,476 meters, Mera Peak is the highest trekking peak in Nepal—a physically and mentally demanding journey through some of the most breathtaking landscapes on earth.
An Adventure Beyond the Office
This climb was a long-standing personal goal for Aaron, who had previously taken on a variety of outdoor challenges. He traveled to the Himalayas at a time of year when the weather added to the difficulties, as temperatures plummeted to -22°C while he was in a remote, high-altitude environment.
Although this expedition was not organized by TITAN, it was a challenge that aligned with the values we represent at TITAN Impact:zest for life, courage, personal growth, and well -being
Reflections from the Summit
After his safe return, Aaron shared some of the most significant insights from his trip:
„Without a doubt, it was the most physically and mentally demanding experience I have ever had . The days were long and unbearable—one stretched over 14 hours of trekking and mountaineering. Summit day alone required a six-hour climb, starting at 2 a.m. in temperatures of -22°C, with the biting wind making it feel like -34°C. At times, the cold and the extreme altitude caused the brain to malfunction.“
„Every morning began with pounding headaches due to the altitude. The environment is harsh and unforgiving—many had to turn back, and some were even airlifted due to injury or needing oxygen. In the end, it came down to sheer courage and determination .“
„There were moments when everything ached—legs, feet, lungs. The thin air made every breath a challenge, and I have photos where my lips are gray from the cold. But for being on the summit and for the view of the sunrise over the Himalayas with Mount Everest in the distance, all the effort was worth it.“
„Most importantly, there was the camaraderie that developed. Without phones or distractions, storytelling, laughter, and quiet perseverance bonded us. I was reminded of how much we take for granted—a hot shower, clean socks, even something as simple as a bag of chips.“
„Mentally, it took me further than I thought possible. I felt stronger, not just physically, but also in my attitude . There were days when all you had to do was put one foot in front of the other and keep going—through the rain, through the fatigue, through the discomfort.“
„And I must say, the Nepalese leaders were exceptional. Their expertise, humility, and quiet strength were crucial to our success. They led with calm confidence, and their deep connection to the mountains was both grounding and inspiration. We couldn’t have done it without them.“

Aaron’s story is more than just an account of a mountain climb—it’s a powerful reminder of the importance of stepping outside of routine to gain new perspectives. His journey reflects the deep connection between personal development and wellbeing in the workplace and shows how time away from the desk can restore focus and energy.
